Tenant Participation

Tenant participation gives Angus tenants a real influence over how housing services are run 🏡. It helps the council understand what works well ✅, what needs improvement 🔧, and how tenants want to be involved.

Ways to Get Involved 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

Consultations 💬

• Tenants are asked for their views on proposed changes (e.g. rent 💷, repairs 🔨, policies 📄).
• Feedback is reviewed and reported to the Housing Committee 🏛️.
• Councillors use this to make decisions, and tenants are told how their input shaped the outcome ✅.

Tenants’ & Residents’ Groups 👥

• Local groups where tenants work together on housing issues 🏘️.
• Groups can become Registered Tenants Organisations (RTOs), giving them a formal role in decision‑making 📢.
• RTOs can apply for grant funding 💰 and receive support from the council 🤝.
• A public register lists all RTOs and includes guidance and application forms 📋.

Tenant‑Led Inspections (Scrutiny) 🔍

• Tenants review how well services are working—such as repairs 🔨, complaints handling 📝, or communication 📞.
• They gather views, review performance data 📊, and share findings.
• This helps ensure services meet required standards ✅.
• Full training is provided 🎓.

Register of Interested Tenants 📨

• Sign up to be contacted about topics you care about ❤️ (e.g. repairs, communication, estate management).
• Take part from home via email 📧, phone 📞, or online surveys 💻.

Local & Angus‑wide Tenant Groups 🌍

• For tenants who want to be more actively involved 🙌.
• Training 🎓, support 🤝, and travel expenses 🚗 are provided so everyone can take part.
