We want to understand your experience of living in, working in, and visiting Angus.

The information you provide will help us prepare our Local Development Plan.

The Local Development Plan sets out how land should be developed for different uses, or protected, in the future.

Our aim is to help create places that meet the community’s needs and aspirations.

How to Have your Say

First have a look at this diagram showing the 10 themes we have developed.

Then complete our short survey about “your place”.

Paper copies of this survey are available in all Angus libraries.

We also have a series of quick questions on this page. If you have time, please answer these as well.

What Happens Next

The survey will be available to complete until October 2025.

If any of the information provided needs actioned by another council department, we will pass it on to them.

This is the first stage of a wider engagement. There will be opportunities for more detailed engagement and discussions about your place over the coming months. Details will be posted here about how to be part of this.

As this engagement will help to feed into the new Local Development Plan for Angus, this section will provide some information and further context to this process, including a timeline and where we are so far.

We are at the first stage of preparation for the next Local Development Plan in Angus which is the Evidence Report. So far, we have had conversations with key stakeholders, organisations, and other services within the Council to provide us with the technical data for a range of different policy areas and themes, which will provide a baseline for the LDP to work from. We are now looking to start engagement with communities at the settlement level to understand their lived experiences of the places the live, work and visit. to complement the technical baseline data and allow us to tailor our approaches for the Proposed Plan.

For more information on the full Local Development Plan process, timeline, and associated work please follow the link to the Council's webpage here.

As the first stage of preparation for the next Local Development Plan, we have been preparing the technical Evidence Report chapters which form the baseline evidence the plan is based upon . We have consulted on some of these chapters already (which can still be viewed on the project page) and have others live at the moment. These can be found on the Engage Angus page here: https://engage.angus.gov.uk/draft-evidence-report-chapters.

The Evidence Report is not intended to focus on specific geographical areas or locations for development, but create a people-centred, place-based, and infrastructure-first perspective to provide a robust evidence base for Angus to prepare the next Local Development Plan.
