The Future of Angus Council Housing Stock - Brechin River Street Area (BRSA)

This engagement is intended solely for individuals who are, or were at the time of the flooding in Brechin from Storm Babet,  Angus Council tenants residing in Council-owned properties, or owner-occupiers residing in former Council-owned properties, at Meikle Mill, River Street, Nursery Park, or Nursery Lane, Brechin.  If this does not apply to you, please do not complete the questionnaire, as your response will not be included in the analysis.

Following the devastating impact of Storm Babet in October 2023, Angus Council has been working to assess the future of its housing stock in the Brechin River Street Area (BRSA). The flooding caused extensive damage, particularly to Council-owned homes, many of which remain empty. In June 2025, the Council agreed not to reinstate or re-let affected Council properties in the BRSA. A set of housing options is now being explored as part of wider recovery and regeneration efforts in Brechin. This questionnaire is part of the next stage of tenants and residents engagement. It is your opportunity to:

Share your views and concerns about the future of the area

Understand what housing options are being considered

Tell us what support you need during this time

Help shape decisions about long-term plans for the BRSA

Your input is essential in helping the Council reach the right decisions for tenants, residents, and the wider Brechin community.
