This consultation has concluded.

The Scottish Government requires local authorities to produce an annual Strategic Housing Investment Plan and provides guidance which sets out what is required.

The purpose of the Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) 2025-26 to 2029-30 is to set out the investment priorities for affordable housing over a five-year period. The priorities contained within the SHIP are consistent with and achieve the outcomes set out in the Angus Local Housing Strategy (LHS) 2023 to 2028.

The council and its partners are committed to overseeing a long-term programme of new affordable housing development in Angus. There is a Prioritisation Framework within Appendix 2 that is used to prioritise investment. It is used to assess projects for inclusion in the SHIP.

During the development of the LHS, a range of opportunities were provided for local people, communities, and stakeholders to share their views. The LHS outlines our direction and vision for the future and serves as an important tool in the preparation of the SHIP.
