The UK Government published the PREVENT Strategy in 2011, as part of its counter-terrorism strategy. The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 places a duty on local authorities to have "due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”.
The policy sets out the council’s position and approach to the PREVENT duty.
