Youth homelessness in Angus remains a significant social issue with long term consequences for young people and the community. Young people that experience homelessness or housing issues often also face challenges related to poor mental health, unemployment, lack of educational attainment, drug and alcohol misuse and poverty.
Our Vision is that young people in Angus facing homelessness or who are homeless are supported and guided on their housing journey into independent living. That they are provided the information and guidance needed to live in ‘a good quality, safe, secure and warm home they can afford’
The purpose of this strategy is to provide a clear action plan on what Angus Council will do to support Young people in Angus facing Homelessness and also how it will prevent it.
To create this action plan we must consider the barriers and challenges young people face.
To be able to get a better understanding of the possible barriers for young people in housing crisis, it is important to learn from those that work with Young people. To gather information from those who see first hand the challenges and barriers that a young homeless person may face.
We want to know your views on what is making it harder for young people that may be homeless or facing homelessness.
By completing the survey below you will be directly feeding into the strategy and action plan Angus Council is taking forward to prevent and support Young Homeless People.
The survey will close Friday 24th January 2025 .
We'll send updates out on the survey to anyone who signs up to stay informed.
