Wharncliffe Hall

Did you know that the Wharncliffe Hall is closed temporarily? Would you like to see that change?

We wanted to hear what you thought the hall could be used for and also if you would consider being involved in the running of things.

In recent times, the hall has been used for many purposes including:

• Elections
• MP Surgeries
• Badminton
• Keep-fit classes for all ages
• Newtyle Welfare Christmas lunches
• Fund raising event
• Flower Show
• Children's parties
• Social events
• Storage for various groups

To keep this great community asset in use by local residents, a community group would need to be established. Our Vibrant Communities team can help with this and support any interest going forward.

The consultation was open from 2 November to 17 November.

The survey received 125 valid responses with 62 online returns and 63 paper copies. 92.8% of respondents are interested in keeping the Wharncliffe Hall open for the community of Newtyle to use. You can see the survey report under the "documents tab" opposite.

Next steps

Angus Council will arrange a meeting with community members who expressed their interests in getting involved in the future management of the Hall to discuss the results of the survey and explore the way forward.
