Final proposals were submitted to committee for approval on 14 December 2023.
Section 18(c) of the Representation of the People Act 1983, as amended, places a duty on local authorities to review the polling districts and polling places in their area during a 16-month compulsory review period beginning on 1 October 2023 and every five years thereafter.
The last review was completed in late 2019/early 2020.
This review began on Monday 2 October 2023. Comments on the council’s current polling arrangements with suggestions for alternative arrangements, were welcomed from all interested parties, including any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability.
