Consultation has concluded
** Consultation Update:
There were 18 respondents to the consultation on the Proposed Changes to the Scheme for Establishment of Community Councils: Proposed Changes to Community Council Constitutions and the proposed Complaints Procedure .
11 respondents identified as members of the public
7 respondents identified as Community Councils
14 agreed with the proposed Changes to the Scheme for Establishment of Community Councils
4 disagreed
16 agreed with the proposed Changes to Community Council Constitutions
2 disagreed
16 did not think changes should be made to the proposed Complaints Procedure
2 thought changes should be made.
The majority of respondents agreed with all the proposed changes, and it is not therefore necessary to commence the second phase of the consultation.
The recommendations and a report on the Changes to the Scheme will be presented to Angus Council in December 2025.
A small number of respondents added comments and of those comments received all related to operational matters and will be addressed as we move forward with updating the Community Council handbook.
It is anticipated the handbook will be ready for publication by the end of this year

The initial consultation period will end on Monday 1 September 2025.

The proposed amendments will be submitted to a full meeting of Angus Council for consideration and approval.

A second phase of the consultation will run from Friday 12 September to Friday 7 November 2025.
