Kirrie High Street open, further work need at Bank Street

We are pleased to confirm that roadworks on High Street, Kirriemuir, are now complete and the road is fully open to traffic.

We greatly appreciate the patience of the local community and businesses while this essential work has been carried out and can confirm that any signage that remains on scene will be removed shortly.

Also, in Kirriemuir, a joint review by Angus Council and Tayside Contracts engineers has been completed on the recent work at Bank Street. It has been agreed that further resurfacing works are required on the north and south footways to ensure they meet the standards we collectively expect.

To deliver this, the footways will be replaced at the earliest opportunity. Unfortunately, this will require a further closure of Bank Street.

We apologise and fully recognise this comes as a frustrating added inconvenience to residents and businesses, and officers will be visiting local businesses to discuss this matter with them.

It is anticipated the work on the footways will begin on week commencing Monday 9 March for a duration of approximately three weeks, weather and any unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
