Every year, Angus Council must prepare a Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement to provide information on how the next Angus Local Development Plan will be prepared and the timeframe for its preparation. This document is essential in providing communication regarding the progress of Local Development Plan as we move through the various stages of its preparation. The new Local Development Plan is estimated to be published and adopted in 2029 after the stages of engagement and preparation have been completed.
Under legislation, we are required to put the draft Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement out for consultation to allow stakeholders, Key Agencies, and the general public to have their say regarding the content of this draft document. This will let individuals and organisations present their views on how and when they would like to be engaged and consulted throughout the preparation of the next Local Development Plan. The consultation opened on the 24th October 2023 and will close at 12pm on 21st November 2023. The results of this survey will be used to inform any changes necessary for the finalised Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement document, alongside allowing Angus Council to prepare and carry out engagement and consultation which fits the needs of participants.
A copy of the Draft version of the Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement has been provided in the right hand tab to help answer the questions in the survey below. If there are any issues or queries surrounding the draft Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement or the related survey, please contact ldp@angus.gov.uk
