Unpaid carers play a vital role in supporting family members, partners, friends, and neighbours who need help due to illness, disability, mental health needs, or age. Their contribution is essential, yet many people do not recognise themselves as carers or fully understand the challenges they face.
We have already engaged with unpaid carers to better understand their experiences. Now, we want to hear from the wider public and people previously in a caring role. Your views will help shape a new Carers Strategy for 2026–2029, ensuring it reflects broader awareness, attitudes, and support needs.
Your responses will help us improve recognition of unpaid carers and identify ways to better support them in balancing caring with other aspects of their lives.
This survey is open until 12am on the 24th May 2026.
