Identified as part of a key strategic route in the north west of the town in 2018 with subsequent feasibility and design work carried out in 2022, the works completed in 2025 included a number of improvements to make access to primary school safer. The path that runs from Newhame road and heads north east towards the primary school before connecting to the wider path network was widened and resurfaced.
A new link to the bus stop on Newhame road was also created along with a more accessible option towards a brand new signalised crossing.
Additional phases will look to bring neighbouring paths up to the same high standard and resolve localised drainage issues.
