Arbroath — A Place for Everyone (APfE) is a transformational active travel and public realm project that rebalances road space along the A92 corridor to create safer, greener, and more inclusive routes for walking, wheeling and cycling.

The scheme delivers approximately 1.5 km of dedicated, accessible active travel infrastructure through the removal of two lanes from the previous dual carriageway that dissected the town.

This nationally significant scheme is the first of its kind in Scotland to re-design a dual-carriageway to make it more accessible and to promote active travel.

Other significant improvements include redesigned junctions, improved crossings, and high‑quality public realm connecting the seafront, transport hubs, the historic core, and key destinations across the town.
