Welcome to this year’s budget consultation.
Every year, we ask you to tell us what’s important to you so that we can reflect your views in our budget plans. This is not as straightforward as we’d like, because there are many things we must do by law and we must also balance our budget.
This year’s consultation will be in two parts. The first part asks you general questions about where you live – you can find this below. The second part will come towards the end of the year and ask you more specific questions about where we should spend money.
Like you and your family, our costs for items such as food, fuel and heating, are rising. There has also been a big increase in demand for some council services, especially services for children and adult care. This means it's becoming much harder to afford all the services we usually provide.
That's why it's so important for us to hear from you. We want to understand which services and issues matter most to you, so your views can help shape future decisions.
We will be sharing more information about our budget, where the money comes from and how we spend it as our budget process continues. In the meantime, please fill out the short questionnaire below and help us to reflect your views.
For the first time this year, we also have an easy read version to make it even easier to have your say.
