Proposed School Admissions and Placing Request Policy

Most children in Angus will enrol in the designated primary and secondary school for their catchment area.
If you want your child to attend a school in Angus other than their catchment area school, you must make a placing request.
This proposal may affect you if you are enrolling a child in school or making a placing request in the future.
We are consulting on a proposal to establish a policy on Admissions and Placing Requests.
Key proposals
- establishing a single admissions and placing request procedure document
- establishing waiting lists for schools that receive more placing requests than they can accommodate
- clarification of timescales for agreeing placing requests
- clarification of arrangements for accessing denominational education
You can find more details of the proposals by downloading these documents:
The proposed admissions policy will not result in change for the vast majority of children and young people.
